About Open Port
Open Port is a cybersecurity publication focused on security news, threat analysis, offensive-security tools, and practical learning guides.
My name is Jordan. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Information Technology. I currently work in IT with a focus on cybersecurity.
I created this site to document what I am learning and investigating: security incidents, vulnerabilities, hands-on labs, attack techniques, and the tools used to analyze, test, and secure systems. Some posts are news-driven breakdowns. Others are technical guides or field notes from the learning process.
AI-Assisted Research
Each article starts with research. I look for reliable sources, compare what is known against what is still uncertain, and separate confirmed facts from interpretation. When a story involves a vulnerability, campaign, tool, or incident, I aim to explain the technical details without stretching beyond the evidence.
AI-assisted workflows are part of that process. I use AI agents to help organize sources, compare timelines, summarize background material, track leads, and support the drafting process. They help manage the research workload, but they do not decide what gets published.
The research direction, editorial judgment, and final published work remain my own. When AI assistance is used in the research or writing process, I disclose that clearly. Every article is reviewed and edited before publication.
